EPA Proposes to Extend Compliance Dates for PCE and CTC TSCA Risk Management Rules – Update from Bergeson & Campbell, P.C.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced on March 24, 2026, that it will propose to extend certain compliance dates in the December 2024 final risk management rules for perchloroethylene (PCE) and carbon tetrachloride (CTC) under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). Until EPA issues a final rule extending the compliance dates, the current deadlines remain effective. EPA notes that it intends to focus its resources on compliance with the new compliance dates that will be established by this rulemaking. Publication of the proposed rule in the Federal Register will begin a 30-day public comment period. EPA has posted a pre-publication version of the proposed rule.
